Oral health continues to be one of the most neglected areas of global health. The tragedy is that oral disease is a silent epidemic afflicting some 3.58 billion people—more than half the world’s population—while it’s largely preventable.
World Oral Health Day is only a couple weeks away. Policymakers and governments can help address the oral disease burden by making a pledge to strengthen oral healthcare systems at the national level. World Oral Health Day encourages policymakers to take action today for better oral health outcomes tomorrow.
FDI sat down with Julien to hear about his role in the success of the Lebanese Association of Dental Students’ World Oral Health Day celebrations over the past two years. Julien shares his experiences and reflects on his goals for the 2020 Unite for Mouth Health campaign.
In 2020, FDI will use the transformative power of pledges to show people how to take care of their mouth and body and empower them to create positive and lasting change. We want everyone to make a pledge to look after their oral health.
