Six FDI Policy Statements adopted at the 2026 FDI General Assembly in Prague have now been published in the International Dental Journal (IDJ). The statements set out FDI's current positions on issues relating to oral health, oral health policies and the dental profession, reflecting the latest thinking on these topics.

FDI develops and shares policies, standards and information related to all aspects of oral healthcare worldwide through its Policy Statements. These are produced by FDI's Standing Committees through consultation, discussion and consensus among member organizations.

Supporting evidence-informed oral healthcare worldwide

Together, these six Policy Statements reflect the breadth of issues that influence oral healthcare, from professional education and clinical practice to public health and scientific research.

Their publication in the International Dental Journal provides an opportunity to bring FDI's policy positions to a wider international audience and support their dissemination among the dental profession and the wider oral health community.

FDI encourages its member organizations and the global dental community to explore the statements, share them with relevant stakeholders and consider how they can inform national policies, professional guidance and practice.
