SDFDS Annual Meeting 2018– Buenos Aires, Argentina
The Annual Meeting of the SDFDS was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 03 to 05 September 2018 prior to the FDI Annual World Dental Congress at the La Rural Convention Centre in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In attendance were 48 delegates from 20 countries who were welcomed by Chair of the SDFDS Executive Committee, Brigadier General Andrew Gray (New Zealand).
The Scientific Programme was held over two days at the La Rural Convention Centre in Buenos Aires. A total of 16 presentations were delivered across the scope of military dentistry including ‘Surgical training for oral and for maxillofacial surgeons at the Central German Armed Forces Hospital,’ ‘Expeditionary Dentistry,’ ‘Promotion of Partnership with Multinational Forces,’ ‘Military Forensic Odontology within the Scope of Standardisation’ and ‘Rapid Readiness: A Biomimetic Paradigm Shift in Army Readiness.’
During the Cultural Day, delegates were taken on a tour bus to enjoy the famous sights of Buenos Aires including a visit to the Dental Facilities at the Argentine Naval Hospital.
