Attend the 65th IADS Annual Congress in Taiwan this August
The Annual Congress of the International Association of Dental Students (IADS) will be held from 27 Aug-1 Sept in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, bringing together dental experts from a range of disciplines to stimulate debate among dental students all over the world.
A diverse group of speakers
The local organizing committee of Taiwan hopes to raise awareness of current issues and hot topics in the dental field, and spark conversations among dental students on an international level. The list of speakers includes:
Dr Wan-Chuen Liao, National Taiwan University Hospital
Dr Liao will share stories from her most notable endodontic cases and will elaborate on her diagnosis and treatment decisions from using microscope, ultrasonic and rotary instruments.
Dr Toshiro Kodama, Kanagawa Dental University
Dr Kodama will discuss his 20-year experience on periodontics and dental implants. He will also shed light on his research and application of resorbable collagen membrane.
Dr Sabrina Huang, Big Apple Dental Clinic
Dr Huang will share experiences from her orthodontic treatment cases using the Damon System. She will also discuss how she corrects malocclusion without surgery intervention.
Dr Nikos Mattheos, The University of Hong Kong
Dr Mattheos will introduce the role of implants in present oral healthcare and will share his own experience with implant dentistry and periodontology.
Dr Michael Ermer, University Medical Center Freiburg
Dr Ermer will share his expertise in oral and maxillofacial surgery and regional plastic surgery. He will provide insights in this field by sharing his experiences with three-dimensional facial reconstruction in trauma patients.
An array of dental equipment suppliers
IADS congress participants will get to experience the most up-to-date dental equipment at the exhibition. The local organizing committee has invited over 30 dental equipment suppliers who will present their latest products.
A cultural experience
As far as social activities go, the local organizing committee of Taiwan has invited traditional performance artists to the cultural exchange night, as well as planned a city tour in Kaohsiung. The post-tour will take place in Tainan, the old capital of Taiwan, where participants will enjoy strolls down Fort Zeelandia, rafting down the Sihcao Green Tunnel, and more.
