Time to prepare for World Oral Health Day, download the resources, submit an event
New World Oral Health Day (WOHD) resources are available online to help people get organized for 20 March. A wide range of materials have been developed by FDI to help oral health professionals and the public amplify the noise around WOHD.
WOHD 2018 at your fingertips
The theme of this year’s campaign ‘Say Ahh: Think Mouth, Think Health’ is introduced in the WOHD toolkit. It includes key messages and ideas to help implement the campaign locally and can be downloaded – like all materials – in English, French and Spanish.
Campaign posters are available in two settings (at home and at the dentist) to highlight the connection between oral health and general health, along with an advertisement specifically designed for oral health professionals to use in magazines or as a standalone.
A brochure can be downloaded and printed for distribution at events and dental practices to improve understanding of the mouth and body connection among the public. Finally, an advocacy toolkit is also ready to help get policymakers to integrate oral health into noncommunicable disease and general health policies.
Every year, hundreds of events are organized across the globe in celebration of WOHD. For maximum visibility, an interactive events map allows users to upload their upcoming events and activities and learn when others are being organized near them.
What’s to come
Over the next months leading to WOHD, FDI will continue to develop resources to help promote the ‘Say Ahh: Think Mouth, Think Health’ messages and empower people to maintain a healthy mouth at all ages. Upcoming resources include the WOHD poster customization app, social media assets, a media guide, an infographic, and a video. So stay tuned for new tools to help you get involved and check the WOHD website regularly for updates.
Celebrated each year on 20 March, WOHD is the largest global awareness campaign on oral health and provides a platform for people take action. It is the culmination of year-long activities dedicated to promoting oral health messages and raising global awareness on the prevention and control of oral diseases.
