Endodontics at the core of new partnership between FDI and Dentsply Sirona
FDI and Dentsply Sirona have signed a new partnership to highlight the need for endodontics in the daily practice of dentistry. The outcome of this collaboration will result in a White Paper on endodontics and an accompanying Chairside Guide for dentists to be launched at the 2019 FDI World Dental Congress in San Francisco, USA.
Saving teeth: A priority
Endodontics is the branch of dentistry concerning dental pulp and tissues surrounding the roots of a tooth. An endodontist is a specialist in saving teeth who performs procedures such as root canal treatment, cracked tooth repair, dental trauma treatment, surgery, etc. Endodontics are experts in pain management and use cutting-edge technologies designed to make treatment more comfortable and successful.
"Saving a natural tooth should always be the first choice to ensure the best possible health outcome. This is why it’s so important to promote endodontics among dental practitioners and patients, so they understand all their options. We are delighted to kick off the new year with this partnership with Dentsply Sirona and welcome them to the FDI family."
Dr Kathryn Kell, FDI President
"At Dentsply Sirona we are focused on empowering dental professionals to provide better, safer, faster dental care. We believe that this collaboration with FDI will benefit their practices and patients and contribute to improving oral health worldwide."
Valérie Baschet, Group Vice President, Endodontics
