Attend the leading conference on health professional regulation

The sixth edition of the World Health Professions Regulation Conference (WHPRC) will take place 19-20 May 2018 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Geneva, Switzerland. The WHPRC provides participants with a platform to discuss current challenges in health professional regulation and the best approach to take in the public interest.

What to expect at the conference?

The WHPRC 2018 will address three main themes:

  1. A call to set the right standards in regulation
  2. Safety, quality and compliance: Benefiting patients, communities and populations
  3. Supporting the quality of lifelong learning

Key speakers will explore lessons learned from competence-based approaches to regulation, compare regulatory models, and examine ways of promoting best practice in regulatory governance and performance. They will come from all disciplines in healthcare and governments, and will reflect the different systems around the world.

Registration and abstract submission

Participants can now register for the WHPRC 2018. Registration includes attendance at all conference sessions, lunch and refreshments, and a certificate of attendance. Early-bird registration rates apply until 15 February.

Authors can submit an abstract for a poster presentation. The abstract should fit within the context/framework of the conference, have international relevance, be innovative and related to the main themes of the conference. Abstract submission closes 15 January.

World Health Professions Alliance

The WHPRC is hosted by the World Health Professions Alliance (WHPA). WHPA brings together global organizations representing dentists, nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists, and physicians and speaks for more than 26 million healthcare professionals in more than 130 countries. WHPA works to improve global health and the quality of patient care, and facilitates collaboration among the health professions and major stakeholders. FDI is a member of WHPA.
