Oral health on show at FDI 2015 Bangkok

In his address on 13 September during the FDI Annual World Dental Congress in New Delhi, the Thai Ambassador to India highlighted the importance of the upcoming 103rd Annual World Dental Congress to oral health in his country and to the Asia Pacific region in general.

Speaking at a special FDI 2015 Bangkok luncheon, he allayed anxieties over recent political turmoil in Thailand, emphasizing a return to normality and democratic processes well in advance of the September 2015 congress dates.

The Ambassador also emphasized Bangkok’s credentials as a business destination as well Thailand’s cultural, climate and location advantages for business travellers and tourists alike.

In her address, FDI President Dr Tin Chun Wong pointed to the remarkable Thai performance in the field of oral health and universal health coverage. She also congratulated Thailand for its performance on gender equality: the proportion of newly registered dentists in is 69 females to 31 males, a world record.
