London press launch for FDI report
FDI launched its report ‘Oral Health Worldwide’ during a press event held on World Oral Health Day, 20 March, in the London premises of the British Dental Association. At the same event, FDI unveiled the book ‘The Tooth Thief’, an illustrated children’s book that aims to instil good oral hygiene habits for children at a young age. The book also includes 10 steps to improve healthy smiles.
Event participants also had a preview of a video clip of the World Oral Health Day 2014 ambassador, Yaya Touré, Ivoirian and Manchester City footballer, later projected on a screen outside the NASDAQ stock exchange in New York City. The outtakes video, filmed during the shooting of the spot, was also shown.
The speaker line-up was: BDA CEO Dr Peter Ward, who outlined oral health issues in the United Kingdom and Prof David Williams, the Bart's and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, who presented the principal findings of the FDI report.
FDI Executive Director Dr Jean-Luc Eiselé rounded off the session with a brief intervention on the meaning and purpose of World Oral Health Day.
