Interdisciplinary conference on health professions regulation
The World Health Professions Alliance WHPA has announced that the interdisciplinary conference on health professions regulation will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, on 17 and 18 May 2014.
WHPA promises a wide array of international leaders in their fields as keynote speakers and panellists. They include:
- Gilles Dussault from the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in Portugal, who will discuss the challenges facing health professional regulation;
- Rhona Flin from the University of Aberdeen in the UK, who will present lessons learned from the evolution of competence-based approaches to regulatory function;
- David Benton from the International Council of Nurses, who will contrast regulatory models to promote best practices in regulatory governance and performance.
Panel discussion will include presenters from Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Jamaica, South Africa and Uganda. There will be an opportunity for conference participants to interact with panellists through moderated participant discussions.
