A call for support following Typhoon Haiyan
Dr Tin Chun Wong, FDI President

I and my fellow FDI Council members were deeply saddened by the images of the Philippines distributed around the world.

On behalf of the FDI Council and dentists represented through their national dental associations by FDI World Dental Federation, I wish to extend our deepest sympathies to populations affected by the tragic devastation from the recent typhoon. At times like these, we can do little more than offer our deepest condolences to those who have lost loved ones.

We are confident that rescue and relief efforts will be swiftly assembled and that the people of the Philippines will recover from this natural disaster.

FDI World Dental Federation is more than willing to rally its members and dental professionals. This is a call to action to help victims suffering severe dental and facial injuries as well as those suffering the more everyday problems of dental pain and untreated disease.

We wish a speedy recovery to the injured and hope that the affected people and regions of the Philippines will return to normal as soon as possible.

People wishing to offer assistance should make direct contact with the Philippines Dental Association at secretariat@pda.ph.
