The session covered caries prevention and management. It presented the information available on the disease and discussed the steps needed to raise the profile of caries as a serious disease. The session addressed the barriers within the dental profession for better caries control and how to overcome them, including collaboration with other stakeholders.

The session reviewed the political framework on environment and health to which the dental profession will have to adapt to. It stressed the need for awareness raising on green dentistry issues in future FDI activities.
