The FDI Annual World Dental Congress 2015 Bangkok took place from 22-25 September 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand. Capital of Thailand and its most populous city, Bangkok welcomed nearly 16,000 delegates in the dental profession from 131 countries. The Congress was hosted by FDI Member Dental Association of Thailand.
FDI 2015 Bangkok featured courses in all fields of dentistry and oral health delivered by 70 experts from around the world, many with simultaneous interpretation. The Congress also featured hands-on and innovative 'Meet the Expert' sessions, free communication and poster sessions.
More than 300 exhibitors demonstrated a wide range of products, materials, cutting-edge technology and high-end services in over 5000 m2 of exhibition space. FDI's role and activities were on display in a nearly 100 m2 pavilion situated within the exhibition.
Over 85% of participants were satisfied and positively impressed with their experience at the Congress, with close to 80% claiming to come specifically for the scientific sessions. Around 85% of visitors visited the exhibition, most spending at least half a day to do so, where key players of the dental industry showcased their products. This also included live surgeries, demonstrations, and product launches.
The Scientific Programme featured lectures in English and Thai.
FDI held its traditional World Oral Health Forum, focusing on two topics within two sessions: Session 1: WHO Guideline on sugars intake for adults and children and Session 2: Universal health coverage: Towards optimal oral health.
