Task Teams

Task Teams and Working Groups are established by the Council to consider matters which are not falling within the purview of any Standing Committee.

The Task Team works to help gain visibility for oral health, mobilize and support member National Dental Associations in their advocacy efforts and promote strategic collaborations with organizations, networks and alliances.

The Congress Task Team evaluates the current World Dental Congress and Regional Congress franchise models, addresses the limits of these models and proposes solutions to ensure their on-going quality and success.

The Dental Materials Task Team provides expert advice and guidance on dental materials and biomaterials to Council and Committees.

The Global Periodontal Health Project Task Team provides guidance and scientific expertise to ensure sound implementation of the Global Periodontal Health Project, which aims to reduce and prevent periodontal (gum) disease worldwide.

The Nominations Task Team evaluates and proposes changes to the existing rules concerning FDI election campaigns, how candidates run their campaigns, and suggest improvements in the nomination and election process.

The Oral Health Observatory Task Team guides the implementation of the initial deployment in 10 countries of the Oral Health Observatory project.

The Sports in Dentistry Task Team oversees the production of guidelines on good oral health for relevant groups in the sports industry, including dentists, physicians, and people playing sports at every level.

Celebrated every year on 20 March, World Oral Health Day is the largest global awareness campaign on oral health.
