FDI’s Strategy for Africa progressed significantly in 2015 and it will continue to move forward in 2016. In addition Continuing Education Courses are scheduled next year in five countries on the African continent.
FDI launched four new partnership-projects during 2015 as well as two new initiatives during the latter part of the year. All partnership projects are carried out in cooperation with FDI member national dental associations in the countries involved.
The second session of the 2015 edition of FDI’s landmark World Oral Health Forum, entitled ‘Universal Health Coverage (UHC): towards optimal oral health’, was held 24 September during the Annual World Dental Congress in Bangkok.

FDI President Dr Patrick Hescot and leaders from nine Africa-based National Dental Associations convened in Dakar, Senegal, on 18 October for a session of discussions within the context of FDI’s Strategy for Africa.
The official ceremony to transfer the FDI’s Annual World Dental Congress from the Dental Association of Thailand (organizer of the 2015 event) to the Polish Dental Society (responsible for the 2016 event) took place during the FDI General Assembly on 24 September in Bangkok.
