Nominations
All Regular Members are entitled to submit nominations for Members of Council and Standing Committees. Regional Organizations are entitled to support nominations for Members of Council and Standing Committees but each nomination must be submitted by the Regular Member Association of the nominee, in writing. Nominations need to be submitted by e-mail to Mrs Djerdana Ivosevic divosevic@fdiworlddental.org with Mrs Maria Kramarenko mkramarenko@fdiworlddental.org in carbon copy or by fax to +41 22 560 8140. All nominations need to include the following documents:
- Nomination form
- Curriculum vitae (CV)/personal record
- Written presentation/letter of motivation (Council: no more than 500 words; Standing Committees: no more than 350 words)
All nominations that meet the criteria will be made available to Regular Members 60 days prior to the annual business meetings.

Council
There are three vacancies. All members of Council are to be elected by General Assembly election.
The council consists of:
- Voting members: President, President-Elect, Treasurer and 10 Councillors
- Non-voting members: Speaker of the General Assembly and the Executive Director

Dental Practice
The Dental Practice Committee monitor and advise Council on issues concerning dental practice. There are two vacancies – one vacancy will be filled by General Assembly election and one by the Council.

Education
The Education Committee monitor and advise Council on issues concerning dental education, the scientific programme of the World Dental Congress and the FDI CE Programme. There are no vacancies.

The Membership Liaison and Support Committee monitors and advises Council on issues concerning internal and external communications and FDI support to members. There is one vacancy – to be filled by General Assembly election.

Public Health
The Public Health Committee monitor and advise Council on issues concerning the improvement of oral and general health in disadvantaged populations and on issues surrounding wider health promotion. There are four vacancies – two vacancies will be filled by General Assembly election and two by the Council.

In 2015 - two members were elected by the General Assembly and two members were elected by the Council.
In 2017 – (Prior to FDI Governance review 2015, this Committee consisted of seven members. The new composition of six members + one member of the PH/CDO Section, was reached after the elections in 2017, when only one vacancy was open. Due to resignation of one Committee member during the Congress, two vacancies were fulfilled at the WDC in Madrid.) As per rotation system and due to reducing number of Committee members by one (which would be election by the Council) in 2017, one member was first elected by General Assembly and after resignation was received, second member was elected by the Council.
In 2018 - two members will be elected by the General Assembly and two members will be elected by the Council, starting with the General Assembly elections.
Science
The Science Committee monitor and advise Council on scientific issues related to oral health. There are five vacancies – two vacancies will be filled by General Assembly election and three by the Council.
The Committee consists of six members.

Important information for candidates
Presentations are to be submitted in English. However, associations are allowed to provide translated versions in one of the official FDI languages (French, German and Spanish) at their own cost. The written presentations will be reproduced in the General Assembly documentation exactly as received. No editing or translation will be done by the FDI.
Eligible candidates will have the opportunity to introduce themselves with a three-minute PowerPoint presentation prior to the elections.

Candidates for Council: General Assembly A on Monday, 3 September 2018 (08:30-17:15)
Candidates for Standing Committees: Open Forum 2 on Tuesday, 4 September 2018 (08:30-10:30)
Presentations will take place at the FDI General Assembly and Forum room – La Rural, Predio Ferial de Buenos Aires.
You should develop your personal presentation independently without the involvement of third parties and your presentation must be based on the position you are applying for. Your presentation cannot be influenced by commercially organized activities (e.g. satellite symposia). The use of promotional materials like flyers is accepted but limited to one A4 page. However, gifts are strictly prohibited and handing out and/or promoting products is not allowed on site. The use of logos, symbols, colours, etc. that refer explicitly, or implicitly, to a third party are not allowed.
